bottled water
« on: March 09, 2017, 03:31:36 PM »
I don't think Buddy likes the bottled water with "flavor enhancing minerals". I have tried to give him some in his little collapsible bowl twice now when we were out and he turned his nose up at it. I mean, it's not my favorite, either. lol

Why are you giving him that?  Why not plain water to drink?

I had just grabbed it quickly before walking out the door. I grabbed one for me and one for him.

I have a BPA free water bottle coming from Amazon that I will fill with tap water and keep in the car. The BPA free one shouldn't leach chemicals into the water in hot weather. Until then, I will replace the bottled water with tap water and bring it inside when we come home.

Luca hates smart water. Once we were on a hike, and he flat out refused it even though it was pretty warm. We had to cut the hike early because he wouldnt drink and i was worried about it. Got to the car offered him arrowhead and he was happy as a clam.

We buy the generic bottled water and I've never had a problem with them refusing it while we're out. We're still drinking flats of bottled water that were given out by disaster relief after Matthew, not sure what brand it is but it's not what we usually get and they like it. Az would probably turn his nose up at smartwater.

I think dogs are predisposed to dislike liquids that aren't pure water, or stinky meaty water. Every dog I've ever had prefers our outdoor water bucket that sits out and thus dechlorinates over fresh tap water in their indoor pail.
