You could train a Sammy since you own a husky! They are not that different to train or take care of. A good year to two year wait for one from a reputable breeder. Let me know if you ever are serious!

So floofy! How bad do sams shed? Seeing all that fur I imagine they're pretty heavy shedders, but I've heard that other floofy breeds like aussie sheps aren't terrible about shedding until they blow their coats.

They shed. Spayed and neutered shed more as they do not blow coat. But all my Sams shed. A lot

I've looked at Samoyeds for years, theyre my 2nd favorites after Sibe when it comes to the "curly tails" as my trainer likes to call them. I've just haven't really seen any quality sammies in my area, and I've never had a dog shipped to me before. I recently found a breeder really close to me, but I've never seen her dogs in person, and with Luca training I haven't extensively searched.

I'd love to hear what breeder you went through, and what to look for in a quality Samoyed.

Jessica pao and Ken G are on the west coast. Both are reputable breeders but focus more on confirmation. Jessica has floppy bear (you can google or Facebook him). Anne O Neill is a breeder in Colorado and I got my rio from her. Of my current 3 Samoyeds rio is the only one that would have made a good service dog. She is 11 though.

I looked at the west coast breeders. Jim Cheskawich is out on that coast. He has done a ton of research on the breed and is one of the few working people I know of out there (i.e. more than confirmation). He would be a good resource if you ever get serious to point you in the right direction.

He wrote the Samoyed book Rex Ray - which was a very famous working Samoyed in history.
