Puppy Pictures and Question
« on: August 06, 2016, 06:01:02 PM »
1) Here are some pictures of the litter I'll be getting my service prospect from at week 3. I am linking from facebook and will keep public for a few weeks. I will be an owner-trainer which I know is difficult but I wanted a particular breed that I have worked with a lot AND I have advanced obedience training I am hoping I can apply and adapt.

2) How do you insert attachments on this forum (instead of links)?

3) Is the puppy culture DVD worth buying for service dog puppy training? The breeder is using that series right now with the litter. I will get Serenity around 8-9 weeks.

I just got the week 3 pictures of the litter. Debbie starts building something called "Puppy World" from puppy culture today. Obviously we have no clue which of the girls will be mine but I couldn't resist sharing! Links will be public for a few weeks.

If someone can tell me how to insert attachments to pictures that would be helpful.

P.S. If anyone is curious her name will be Wind Chaser's Gift of Serenity.

Wind Chaser is the kennel name.

Serenity is the name that I chose because it applies to both of my disabilities. I thought gift of serenity might be more appropriate for the full name in case she is an energetic dog. i.e. she is giving "me" the gift of serenity but isn't necessarily serene herself.

I may nickname her Seren for some locations. i.e. in obedience where a long name can get you into trouble if you lose points for a dog anticipating something before their full name is out. Or at work if I don't want people to know I have both a physical and mental disability (right now some just know the physical side).

Cute puppy pictures

We actually can't post attachments rather than links. We always use links, because this is safer when it comes to spam and such.

Yes. She will be the fourth Samoyed I have owned. There are only a few Samoyed breeders nationwide (maybe 5 total) that focus on performance, working, etc... stuff. This is from one of them. When I saw the grandma and mom at the nationals two years ago I started talking to her about a puppy. While it is no guarantee the prospect will turn out well for service work we do get a lot of input into how she raises the puppies at her house and we get top pick after her. I will not be picking but rather giving her input into what would be best for a service dog that you can tell at an early age. I am allergic to a lot of dogs and know Samoyeds are fine for my allergies. Many dogs in programs like labs I know I am allergic too. I have a long hard road ahead of me but I am hoping with the support of the experts on this community I can learn a lot. Stay tuned!!!

Yes. Samoyeds are super cute dogs. Very hard to raise due to their working personality until you learn that but oh so worth the effort.

Yep! I would say rigging up a vacuum cleaner to her would help my pain. But we have to chain the bag canister 2 times a floor due to all the fluff. Maybe I will get lucky and instead of being asked about my disability the public will continue to ask if they shed!!!

They are so adorable! In a couple of the pictures they almost look like baby polar bears

The forum does not use attachments or embedded pictures due to porn spam that had explicit pictures that some of the members found disturbing and triggering. Links give members a choice to view or not view. Sorry that it means one must use a different site to upload your photos, but it is for the safety of the members.

So cute! I've followed several Border Collie and sport mix Puppy Culture litters from a trainer/breeder I highly respect who is heavy into flyball and agility. They all end up so confident and exuberant and ready to meet the world by the time they come home. I'd be very interested when I am looking for another GWP puppy (hopefully MANY years from now) that comes from a Puppy Culture breeder.

Hmm... personally would suggest a one or 2 syllable callname for working prospect. Could call her Gift?

Serenity (seren). To answer the call name question. That is how it will be shortened for obedience.
