A thousand miles you walked with me ,

Down many a lonely place, On darkened  paths and streets

Uhm couldn't that be considered a form of fraud?  The money was gathered under the premise of supporting runners, but now all of a sudden they are using it PERSONALLY for a SD???  If I had contributed, I can guarantee I would be madder than a nest of hornets.

It looks like there were various charities along the way that benefitted.  The one who took it upon herself to organize and make the event possible every year finds herself in need of a service dog.  If the money is given to a bona fide charity -- I don't think it is a fraud.  Since she was the one who made the decision about who got the benefit each year.  If I read it right, this was the last event and the proceeds will help her.  As long as she announced that and people still donated, I don't think it's fraud.  Maybe not really ethical, but not fraud.  Like WR.  THAT is fraud.
