Bentley found!
Sierra Wave-36 minutes agoShare
It was a heart-breaking tale of a reported service dog lost. Many locals in and around Mammoth Lakes tried to find Bentley. Searles said he received two or three ..
A thousand miles you walked with me ,
 Through the fields and streams
Down many a lonely place, On darkened  paths and streets

I cannot imagine Tardis growling at some stranger approaching him in a friendly manner.  Tripping a jogger or licking a toddler, yes. growling, no.

First: I wouldn't leave my service dog with a dog walker.

Second: on the one hand, I don't know how several days alone in the wild would influence my dog. Especially if she may have been injured and in pain. On the other hand, like you said Kirsten, I can't imagine AIRLIE growling at a friendly stranger. Especially one with treats.

I'm glad they found the dog, and I hope they pull him from service work until he can be evaluated by a behaviorist.

I've considered sending Tardis out with a jogger because I'm having difficulty meeting his exercise needs on my own. I think several members here do use walkers to help make sure their dogs' needs are met, even if they can't keep up themselves.

I didn't mean to imply that dog walkers are evil or irresponsible. I was just trying to express my personal comfort level with using them. Of course, I have anxiety issues so I would spend the whole time worrying.
