Six Months Later...
« on: February 13, 2018, 01:23:33 PM »
I got the email today! (AKA the "I can finally share the news" email.)

Cambrie is leaving for in-home training on February 20th. She and her person will be attending graduation in San Rafael on March 3rd - I will be able to meet the client and present her at the ceremony. <3

(For those that are curious - "In Home Training" is where the dog and a trainer travel to the client to do the two-week training. There can be a few different reasons for this - Health, financially not being able to take two weeks off of work, family members, etc. It means that the client does not come to the campus for training, although in some cases, like Cambrie's, they do make the trip to campus for the graduation ceremony.)

You should be so proud.

On behalf of service-dog partners everywhere, I thank you. I'm so happy that the client will travel to the ceremony; you earned the right to see the team.

That is so special Punk! I know you get it, but really you have no idea how special you puppy raisers are to us. You really have just opened up someone's life so much more and allowed them to be so much more free and independent and happy! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work that you put in, and all the sacrifices that you had to handle with giving your girl back to the school. You're amazing and I just know the person you meet on graduation day is going to be so grateful and thankful to you! Awesome work!

Thanks guys!!

Sandy, I am extremely proud of her. <3

Arrowcom, thank you for your kind words! <3 It really means a lot, especially coming from someone who actually has a guide dog. I'm really excited for this match - I can't wait until graduation comes and I can speak to her grad!

Congratulations! That is wonderful news! I'm glad you get to present her to her new partner.

And I just have to say thank you for puppy raising! I got to meet  Zeus' puppy raiser during team training and it is an amazing thing that raisers do!
