The kitties talk to each other- bathtime
« on: January 24, 2008, 01:29:04 PM »
It is a shame.  You try to keep things a secret and the kitties have to talk to each other, breaking the secret.  It started with DP.  We snuck him out of my parents bedroom.  We kept him quiet, hiding his head so he wouldn't make any noise.  We get into the room, close the door to muffle the sound he will make.  Then he sees it.  The bathtub.  He starts fighting being held.  We are so glad he isn't making noise.  We slowly put him down towards the tub, with him now barely struggling.  He knows what is coming, he knows he can't fight it.  Then it happens.  He touches the water.  He starts.  REOOWWW!  Grrrrrrrrr!  REOOOWWWWWW! For the next 15 minutes he continues his verbal protest, while physically he just allows us to continue.  After the soap has set, and then has been rinsed off, we pick him up to dry him off.  The door opens, and we take him to the den to dry him off completely.  Then, it is Evie's turn.  When we started she was on Razel's bed trying to sleep.  Now, she is gone.  She has learned the secret.  She is now somewhere hidden, knowing that it might be her turn.  *shakes head*  Bad DP, telling the other kitties what has been going on.

hehe

I used to wash my childhood cats from time to time, they were pretty good as I did it from them being kittens (I've never washed my current cats, wouldn't live to tell the story) I remember one year on Christmas Day our one outdoor cat fell in the winter pool (winter meaning it was standing, green... ick. Ever since then we've emptied it) I remember him standing at the back sliding glass door looking in, he wouldn't come through the doggie door & he was holding himself funny. When I looked closer he looked like he was covered in grease. I carried him up to the tub without complaint. He stood there for 30 min while I scrubbed him down with the water running, he was so good. The relief on his precious face, he looked so grateful. He was licking himself for about four hours after then passed out for a day. My Pye. Miss you boy.

Sylver's bath was yesterday.  He is the best of them, and he is the one with claws! He screamed and screamed, this being his second or third bath since I got him like 4 years ago.  He was also really good because I used my doggie dryer.  It is LOUD and powerful, but after the few times he tried to escape, he just curled up in my lap and let me dry him.  It was funny doing his tummy.  I'm holding his out by his legs and my mom was drying him.  He looked so pitiful, but not 5 minute after he was dry I was his best buddy again
