We all know it is frustrating, I had an existing service dog and a service dog in training along with my husbands service dog, that we tried to get into housing with, they kept coming up with other excuses not to rent to us.(they knew it was illegal for them to deny us on the dogs) then to top it off my father in law, moved up here for a short time with his 2 svs dogs (mini doxies that took turns working for him the female was an access trained svs dog the male was retired to in home work only after being abused one to many times by children in public), so it was then 4 service dogs and 1 in training svs dog we were trying to get into housing with.

It took 2 years but we finally got into this place we are in now. We went from living in tents in the summer time to living in a pet friendly hotel in the winter.  But our landlord is great he has worked with us and even helped with Neiko's training and knows that if he shows up at landlords door to come down to the apartment as I am in trouble and need help.

So patience does pay off in the end.

I think it will all work out, I feel it will work out. I've learned today that I'm grandfathered in by signing a lease saying I can have pets. No where in their lease it says they reserve the right to make any changes in the lease. I certainly don't want the landlords mad at me but I have to do what I have to do. In a nice manner of course.

The thing is, you don't really have to do it the way you plan.  There are other options that may be more likely to get a positive result.

People don't tend to like being treated the way you're planning to treat your landlord.  I'd be angry if you did it to me.  Grandfathered or not, as a landlord I could make things unpleasant for you.  Some landlords have integrity and wouldn't, but others might.  You should also consult an attorney regarding your lease.  If it's a month-to-month, which is the case with most mobile home parks, then you might not be grandfathered in.  Only an attorney who reads the actual lease can really determine which is the case for you.

It's a year lease. I'm surprised it isnt month to month but its a year lease. I think I will talk to a lawyer about it just to be safe.
