Most of our cats would allow Roose to groom them, no matter what their age, but most were her "children" so they just never out grew it.  We even had the occasional "kitten" nurse at a year or two old with his younger brothers and sister.  Roose would let them do it and groom them just like the others as well.

Ah, here's part of the confusion.  http://vimeo.com/18953335  The dog in this video was rehabbed for aggression.  But it belongs to another person.  The handler claimed the dog that attacked the little girl belonged to him, and the rehab he described on his own dog (seen his video about the rehab wearing an SD vest) is that it was for a physical problem related to the hips.  Here's the video about the hip rehab:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pifrl1F4Oz8&feature=channel_video_title

Aussies, help with this.  His accent sounds Australian to me.  Is it, or is it South African?

I would learn more towards a South African accent although I honestly couldn't tell you what an aussie accent sounds like.

It's definitely a South African accent. Mind you, I'm not very well acquainted with australian accents either.

Pretty sure they said South African, or at least African - isn't he Africa's Caesar Milan?

Yes, he's supposed to be in South Africa, but that doesn't mean he was from there originally.  We have a radio announcer in my city originally from the UK.  The accent has been Americianized, but I can still recognize it as British.  I thought I could tell the difference between Australian and South African.  I can certainly identify a number of American dialects (including Canadian English), and some British.  I'm certain he's neither of those.  It doesn't matter, it's just been bugging me that he sounds Australian to me when he's supposed to be South African.  So I thought I'd ask if I was right or wrong.

Definitely sounds South African to me!  I reckon the SA accent is more similar to the NZ accent than Australian.

The accents can be incredibly similar - I'm Australian and have been mistaken for South African while travelling. Then I switch to Canadian and confuse everyone, eh? On topic - when I watch it I hear South African too.

I suspect she means flea bite.  Those tiny little biting maneuvers like eating corn on the cob that are meant to groom and remove fleas.  They aren't aggressive, but every once in a while you get a little pinch when a dog does it to bare human flesh.  My general rule is "dog teeth do not touch human flesh," even by accident, even very gently.

Yep.

For what it is worth, I read it to mean that the breeder would count it as aggression as an attempt to remove all possible question about a dog biting.  However, flea biting humans is easily fixed, and as you pointed out, Lin, it is a grooming behavior, not aggression.

I'm not talking about a dog doing the action as a grooming behavior, but as a way to make the human holding it either loosen their grip or let it go.  His bottom line was the same as yours, no teeth on human flesh.  If the dog was willing to flea bite you today (in an attempt to get loose/go back to fighting) then he felt there was too much room for the behavior to escalate.  Pups were taught early about no teeth.

My relationship with my SD is like a marriage.  In fact, my two-legged husband calls Scooter "The Other Man".

From what I observed that was an unprovoked attack by an unstable dog. What I saw was a dog already fixated on the little girl much earlier on and before the attack. You could sense the intensity from the dog the moment it began to do what I call the "cold, hard" stare and its intentions were plainly displayed had this "expert" been paying any kind of attention. That this man then lies and claims that this is his service dog is repugnant.  I know just how much hard work and extensive training was done before my dog could proudly be called a service dog and it is infuriating that this man dared to try and lump an untrained, aggressive and dangerous dog under the same title. I hope he is fined a very large sum and has to surrender this dog to the authorities immediately!
