I have never heard of figs or dates being bad for a dog, but I would feed in moderation. I don't know what the consistency is after baking but aren't they still kind of sticky (like stick to the teeth). Also, I don't know about sugar content. I feed my dogs apples, bananas, peaches, pears, blueberries, and probably a few other things but am careful not to give too much. Since you are not feeding as a meal but as a treat you probably wouldn't have any problems. I'll try to look around some and see if I can find anything out for you.
Not that it probably really applies here but I heard that over in Arabia the horses are given dates/figs as a part of their diet. May or may not be true.
And just remember many people say raisins are a no-no for dogs. I've heard that a few can make a small dog sick and I've heard that it would take a large amount so I just prefer not to take the chance myself.
