I am infamous for weird names. Actually, Maigee (pronounced "May-gie" with a nasal "A") is a fairly normal name, especially since Maggie is one of the most common dog names. The most unusual spelling of a name I've ever had was probably a rabbit named "Kijegeen" (Keegan). I've had foreign names as well as having rabbits named "Dog" and "Cat" and cats named "Bunny" and "Dog." We have a litter of kittens most summers, and give away most of the kittens, so they get stupid names because they are renamed by their new families. Same thing with rabbits once I know who I'm selling and who I'm keeping. The ones I'm selling for show get good names (since they have show names on their pedigrees). Pets get silly names because they are always renamed anyway. The ones I sell for meat are usually named One, Two, Three...etc. or names for meat like Pork, Beef, Chicken, etc. Then there are my fish I have right now, named Olecranon (Ollie), Epicondyle (Connie), Trochlea (Leah), Coranoid (Cora), and Acromion (Mia). All named after parts of the bones of the elbow and shoulder.
Just be glad I'm not naming your dog! Of course, our previous dogs were named Buster, Katie, Zach, and Sparky. Of course, I was too young to name them at that point in time
