This the site, sal?
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/

Yes!  That is the site, I found it helpful for comparing food, though not all brands are there.

For those of you who order food, is there outrageous shipping? Everywhere I've looked into is prohibitively expensive because of shipping costs. It's cheaper just to buy it in a store.

It's a convience thing. Some days I just don't feel up to loading the scooter on the back of my car, driving 5 miles and unloading the scooter. There have been in the past, where the depression/high blood sugar just sapped all my will and strength. Dog (and cats) has to be fed even if I can't get out of the house to go get him food. Lately I have been able to go out and at least hit the nearby grocery store to get food for Max.

Canidae, this is what the breeder was using. He sells it wholesale to us, but when I got home I tried some others, like Sammy Snack, friends went on about how their dogs coats looked because of the food, it gave Sugar the poos, it was bad for him.

So back to Canidae, and an egg twice a day. Need to add the Grizzly Salmon Oil, but he is antibiotics for UTI, and worried about stomach/bowel issues.
I even use it for about all treats and training, seems with him, the less variety the better for his digestion. I did buy a bag of frozen peas that was mentioned on here, haven't tried them yet.

Why would a male puppy get UTI's? They said it was rare, but didn't elaborate?

They get it for the same reason everyone else does, because bacteria got in there and had a party.

it's rarer for males because of how the plumbing is structured. In males it is just the one tube and not a lot of places for batceria to be harbored;  in females there is a larger opening for the vagina along with the urethra which contains more places to harbor bacteria (both the good kind and the bad) close to the urinary tract. So females of any species are more likely to get a UTI than a male would.

Oh I completely understand. I have times like that too, especially when it's icy and nasty out here. But for me if the shipping cost is going to be prohibitively expensive, I just can't afford it. I was asking if you knew anywhere that has decent shipping prices.

I get the bacteria party, I am a nurse lol. Even in male infants UTIs are rare and often lead to hospitalization, yes it takes some climbing bacteria to travel up to the male bladder.

Guess I was thinking there was some "dog" story going to come from my question. He is not one of those constant "licking" "cleaning" dogs? Maybe he has poor hygiene, not really....???

That is my stupid question of the day.

Poor diet can also be a contributing factor to UTIs.
The decisions we make and the way we behave are what ultimately shape our character.
