I recently read (listened too) a book by W. Bruce Cameron titled “A dogs Purpose”.  It is purely fictional but has given me a thought provoking view of a dog’s, um, spiritually?  It’s written from a dog’s perspective and relates several reincarnations... one of which is as a police Service Dog.  The authors’ sense of humor from the main characters view towards humans and life as a dog in general is, to me, wonderful and possibly realistic!  I highly recommend this book, be prepared to shed a few tears if you love dogs... I have been through it three times and still bawl like a a baby!
