Settlement Agreements

The Department of Justice sometimes intervenes in cases where discrimination is claimed under the ADA and attempts mediation which sometimes results in a settlement agreement so that both parties can come to a resolution without the time and expense of going to court. Below are some of those settlement agreements that may be of interest to those interested in service animals under the ADA.

The American Hospitality Inn, Portland, OR, Settlement Agreement (Oregon) -- re: agreement requires the Inn to modify its policies and practices to require its employees to accept alternative identification other than a drivers license from persons with disabilities who cannot drive.
